The answer to this week's frog or toad is frog! It is a Northern Cricket Frog (Acris crepitans), from the family Hylidae, the Tree Frogs. The skin looks bumpy but their aren't any real warts on it's back. It lacks a parotid gland as well.

The answer is.....TOAD. It is a Eastern Spadefoot Toad (Scaphiopus holbrookii) from the family Scaphiopodidae, the American Spadefoot Toads. While it's not a true toad, the Spadefoot Toads share the same stocky body. While you can't it, the toad's have spades on their rear foot to help with digging.
