The answer to this week’s frog or toad is…..TOAD. It is a Yellow Bellied Toad (Bombina variegata) from the family Bombinatoridae, the Fire Bellied Toads. If you look closely, the eyes aren’t normal round pupils, they are more heart shaped. This is one way to tell it it’s in the genus Bombina (the firebellied toads) because they all have this eye shape.
