The Sky Blue Poison Dart Frog lives in rock piles and caves in the tropical rain forest in the east Andes.
The males call out from their rock cover. The females lay 12 – 16 eggs in the leaf litter, halves of coconuts, or bromeliad plants. The males guard the eggs for up to two weeks until they hatch. Then, the male carries the tadpoles to water bodies with moving water.
