Herper of the Week: Michel Ohmer

The Herper (reptile and amphibian enthusist) of the Week is Michel Ohmer, Postdoctoral research assistant at Richard Zawacki Lab in Pittsburgh. She obtained her Ph.D from the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia. Her Ph.D was about skin shedding in frogs and how the different rates of shedding and the different types of skin can help or hurt the frogs when it comes to diseases.

Her current research is on how the changing climate impacts amphibians’s immune system and how the future climate might affect outbreaks of chytrid fungus in North America’s amphibians.
