The Iberian Painted Frog is found in the Iberian Peninsula in Spain and Portugal. They live close to any sort of water source that has dense vegetation surrounding it.
The breeding season starts in October and lasts through the summer. Breeding takes places in shallow, temporary or permanent bodies of water.
The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List categorizes the Iberian Painted Frog as Least Concern for Extinction. They are believed to be abundant throughout their range. However, more of the frogs habitat is being converted into urban areas and farm land.
