My Milkshakes Brings All the Frogs to the Yard: Tips on How to Attract Frogs to Your House

A frequently asked question here at gone froggin is how do I attract frogs to my yard? Well with these tips, you will be like swimming in frogs just like Egypt was after Moses was done with them.

1) Define a Frog Area

One of the first things you want to do is designate a frog area, a piece of your yard where you want the frogs to found that people won’t be disturbing much. You don’t want your basketball court to be your frog area.

2) Avoid Chemicals in Your Yard / Frog Area

Frogs have really sensitive skin and any chemicals that you use on your grass could poison the frogs that we want to attract. Also pesticides will kill insects, the food source for frogs. Avoiding chemicals on your yard would be best but keeping them out of the frog area would work as well.

3) Build a Frog Pond

What is a frog without water? Whether its a place to reproduce or just to chill, frogs need water. Setting up a frog pond is a way to attract frogs to to your backyard but it can be quite a project to install.

4) Plant Native Flowers, Bushes, and Trees

Native plants will bring in native insects to help feed the frogs you want to attract. It also helps other native animals.

5) Avoid Cutting Your Grass and Racking Your Leaves in the Frog Area

Be lazy! Wow this is such an easy tip but it works. Not cutting your grass allows for wildflowers to grow and bloom, allowing insects to feast upon them. Then, the insects become a food source for your frogs that you are trying to attract.
