Drum roll please, the answer to this week’s frog or toad is….FROG. It is a Cascade Frog (Rana cascadae) from the True Frog family – Ranidae. It is found in the Northwestern United States.

Now onto how to tell it’s a frog, it’s skin is pretty smooth, there are spots but not warts. It does not have a parotid gland. Also the legs are long, made for jumping instead of chunky legs for digging. Remember also, frogs can be brown and toads can be other colors.

Stay tuned for next week’s frog or toad!
